Kelin Perry actively cultivates a reverence for the unseen, discarded and forgotten. In her work, she uses mainly discarded materials found on the side of the road, around neglected urban buildings and railroad tracks. Perry strives to make work that is authentic by manipulating what she finds as minimally as possible, allowing the materials to speak for themselves. She sees these materials as having their own unique spirit and life, their own heartbeat. Perry’s work encourages us to see the overlooked, abandoned and unseen in humanity and our natural world. To find the beauty and spirituality common to us all.
